For whom is this program?

This program is for students who:

• have completed an EA Introductory Fellowship

• are interested in applying EA ideas to their career plan

• want to complete an individual project, group project, or reading group to gain experience and test their fit for career paths they are considering

  <aside> 🌎 For Spring 2021 we have students from Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Waterloo, Rice, Rutgers, NYU, and AUS.

What you get

• Guidance from EA career mentors and your local group director on what projects to pursue
• Connection to a mentor with expertise in your project area who can give you feedback
• access to a community of similarly passionate students committed to doing good, holding one another accountable, and providing mutual feedback
• Hands-on learning experience while making an impact

Types of projects

Most of our suggested projects have a research component—anything from literature reviews to impact evaluations to hardware development—though we're open to a wide range of possibilities.

Program Outline

Career Workshopping : 4 weeks → Jan 4 - 31

This first stage of the program is optional and can be skipped if you have already been through an EA career mentoring program or have a good idea of what project you want to do. This part of the program should help you come up with projects that would be most beneficial for you to do.

Over the course of this month you will:

• Consider which problems you think are most pressing for more people to work on,
• Formulate a list of long term career options,
• Come up with a short term career plan, and
